The year is drawing to a close and we are preparing for Christmas, and utilising the break to get ready for a full on year of coverage for the fantastic productions scheduled next year.
But just before we go, we want to say a massive thank you. To everyone who has contributed to the site; to those who have read and viewed our articles; given us feedback; invited us to review shows; provided interviews with us and taken time to use the website.
With over 80,000 hits this year since February when we launched, we truly are blessed and hope we had a positive impact on ticket sales for the companies producing such wonderful productions. If we have encouraged one additional person to go to the theatre, we've achieved our goal.
We'll, of course, be back with more coverage; more content; more interactivity; more multimedia content; more features; more reviews and a potential new look next year. We're truly excited for 2017!
For now however, Merry Christmas one and all. May you have a wonderful festive break.
Some photos from the 2016 programme and coverage. Can you name these productions? Did you see them?.
Thanks to all who took and submitted photos. Photo credits in corresponding articles where required.
The final production of the year for multi-award winning CCADS, now in their twenty-fifth year, has officially sold out for Friday, with other nights not far behind.
'Let The Right One In' is to be performed at The Square Tower from the 6th - 10th December 2016. It's a hauntingly beautiful production and is potentially the most compelling piece of amateur theatre this year.
It tells the story of lonely and bullied Oskar, who befriends the mysterious Eli, who, it turns out, has been a teenager for a very long time...
Tickets are limited for this intimate piece of theatre so advance booking is essential. You can book by calling 07843367659 or online, link below.
Without doubt, from what we've seen, this production is not to be missed. Starring Sean Ridley and Sally Goddard and under expert direction of John-Paul McCrohon, it follows the excellent standard of other CCADS productions (Cats; Betty Blue Eyes; One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest; to name but a few recently).
Get your tickets and let us know your thoughts! It's certaibly one not to be missed.
IT'S THE FIRST of December and, now the advent calendars have opened, the Christmas Spirit is in full force! What better way to start the yuletide celebrations than with a hilarious piece of festive theatre?
Tonight, the Porchester Players open their production of Tim Firth's THE FLINT STREET NATIVITY. Originally a well-received television comedy film, it was later adapted by Firth for the stage to popular reviews, with a repeat run the following year.
The show, directed for The Porchester Players by Jason Christopher, centres on a group of Primary School children - played by adults to hilarious and poignant effect - putting on a Nativity play. If the sneaky rehearsal segments we've seen are anything to go by, this is going to be a highly entertaining evening.
The production is being staged at The Ashfcroft Centre in Fareham and runs until Saturday the 3rd December 2016.
Don't miss this great chance to see this festive, fun and wonderful piece. Some tickets still remain at the time of writing. Advanced booking is advised.
